In a feat that stunned the creative world, Shreelakshmi Bhat has been officially recognized by the London Book of Records, India Book of Records, Kalam Book of Records, and Karnataka Book of Records as the Youngest Female Director in India. 

Her cinematic accomplishments include Five Independent Films Prakrati, Srushti, Nadhanka, Siri, and Ruthu — for which she holds complete creative ownership. From story writing and screenplay to dialogues, lyrics, and direction, she has single-handedly helmed every aspect of the filmmaking process. This unique, multilingual authorship at such a young age is a historic milestone in Indian cinema. 

With 30+ National and International Awards, Shreelakshmi has garnered global acclaim for her storytelling depth, artistic vision, and youthful innovation. Her work has not only won her multiple titles such as Best Youth Director and Youngest Director, but also positioned her as a Voice of India’s Rising Youth in Cinema. 

“Each film I create is an emotion I want the world to feel,” she says. “Cinema, to me, is not just art — it’s a mission to express truth and hope.”

Not content with visual storytelling alone, Shreelakshmi is also stepping into the world of literature with two inspirational books: 

  1. ಯಶೋದಿಗಂತ (Yashodiganta)” – A Kannada motivational work filled with powerful reflections for students. 
  1. “Student Key Success in Alphabets” – An English guide designed to unlock success for students using the simplicity of the alphabet. 

Both books are deeply rooted in her own life experiences, combining clarity of thought with youthful optimism. She writes not to impress, but to ignite confidence and courage in her readers. 

“Through every word, I want to remind students that no dream is too big, and no start is too small,” she shares. 

Champion Shooter: Precision with Purpose 

Shreelakshmi has also earned her stripes in the world of competitive sports. As an accomplished Rifle and Pistol shooter, she has represented India with pride at the International Level, securing top medals and admiration from the shooting community. 

Her sports achievements include:

  • State and South Zone Medals in Rifle Shooting 

Her shooting coaches describe her as focused, calm under pressure, and fiercely disciplined — the perfect marksman.

She is also a trained Bharatanatyam dancer and a passionate Yakshagana performer, representing the cultural heartbeat of Karnataka. 

“Every note I play is a language of the soul. Music heals, connects, and awakens something deeper in us,” she shares.

Shreelakshmi’s acting journey began early. She has acted in:

    …across 4 mega serials, earning 27+ awards for Best Child Artist. 

Her performances are praised for their depth, authenticity, and soulful delivery, making her a favourite among directors and audiences alike.
