Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson will not be travelling to Bengaluru for the team’s next clash in the Indian Premier League. Samson, who missed RR’s home game against the Lucknow Super Giants, will also be absent from the match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
The franchise announced the development via a statement on Monday, April 21—the same day the Royals flew out from Jaipur. Samson was struck on the ribs during Rajasthan’s match against the Delhi Capitals and had to retire hurt after facing just 19 balls. He later complained of abdominal pain and was subsequently rested for the game against LSG.
“He is currently undergoing recovery and will remain at the team’s home base with select RR medical staff. As part of his ongoing rehab process, he will not be travelling to Bengaluru for the upcoming match against RCB,” Rajasthan Royals said in an official statement.
