Lenders have begun to lower the repo rate in response to the central bank’s move, with ICICI Bank being the most recent to follow suit for savings and fixed deposit accounts.
With effect from April 17, ICICI Bank has announced a 25 basis point drop in interest rates for savings accounts and a 50 basis point drop for fixed deposits. All customers, regardless of deposit duration, are intended to be affected by the decision.

The current range of the bank’s FD interest rates for different tenures is 3.5% to 7.05 percent for regular clients and 3.5% to 7.55 percent for senior people.
The highest rate, 7.05%, is seen for general customers with FD tenures ranging from 18 months to 2 years; for elderly individuals, the rate is 7.55%.
